Celtic Britain: Cantii, uninscribed, AR unit, 50-30 BCE

OBVERSE:
Diademed Celtic head right with large curls of hair and large pointed nose.
REVERSE:
Globular horse right with long curly, snake-like tail, delta, infinity sign, wheel and triskele above, lyre below
GRADE: Near EF, 1.49 gm; class A; very rare
ATTRIBUTION:
VA- ; CCBM- ; DLT-
COMMENT:

Only one segment of the trikeles is present above the horses head. Only 1 is known showing all 4 symbols completely above the horse. See Rudd list 15, lot 14:

Class A, lyre leans right; class B, lyre leans left: See BNJ 1992; though the tribe is uncertain, find spots are consistent with the Cantii
